VENUE SEARCH  - Tech Sector

This client was looking for potential hotel venues on the East or West Coast for their management meeting.  Key geographical areas of interest included super options in The Adirondacks, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Monterey, Napa Valley, Sonoma and Palm Springs.  This client prefers buyouts so the venue can be 'locked down' and offers an eclectic mix of indoor/outdoor activities  

VENUE SEARCH  - Aerospace sector

This search was to find an exclusive  location and 5* hotel with good meeting space for a top-line management retreat in Scotland where suitable solutions were found in locations including around Braemar, Loch Lomond, Kelso, Loch Fyne 

LOCATION SEARCH  - Pokemon GO Fest

A  search to find a suitable, fully accessible open park space which started  in Barcelona and Madrid before the preferred location changed to London.

I found a great selection of well-positioned parks in all locales and began the conversations with each to hold a three day event for up to 20,000 Trainers (attendees) each day before introducing them to the event delivery team to recce them and make their final decision

PITCH - banking/finance:  Vienna 

Logistics Director working on the successful pitch for an annual external global conference to a multi-cultural audience across C-levels, senior executives, mid-level executives, product users, prospective customers, partners, investors, press, industry analysts and staff.

Plenary, expo, ancillary meetings and off-site dinners for 2000 attendees:

* overall event logistics inc venue management, production, on-site F&B, off-site venue management and F&B for two dinners

* ground transfers as required

* on site host team

* crew management and accommodation

PITCH - banking/finance:  Palma 

Logistics Director working on the 'successful' pitch for an annual internal conference where all revenue generating employees and partner community get together for the year start. The objective of the event is to enable delegates on company and product strategy, as well as other related topics to the sales organization and to boost the team’s motivation for the year ahead

Plenary,  ancillary meetings and networking for 1200 attendees:

* overall event logistics inc venue management, production and on-site F&B

* ground transfers as required

* on site host team

* crew management and accommodation

The National Lottery’s Homecoming events

Team GB, August 2021 and Paralympics GB, September 2021

Event Producer – Guest Manager responsible for managing the customer journey from ticketing each event through to on-site across the general public, athletes and their families, talent, VVIPs and VIPS
Working across all aspects of the microsite, ticketing, venue access and accessibility with TNL, AXS and The SSE, Wembley box office and the venue's operations and FOH teams
Create and manage seating manifests including kills, restricted views, etc
Manage a ‘papering plan’ to market seats outside of the public ballot to Tickets for Troops, Blue Light Tickets, etc

Introduced and managed a dedicated FOH team to 'wayfind' and seat the audience

Audience size: TGB approx 9,000, PGB approx 8,000

TGB was broadcast on BBC1 and PGB on C4

WeMakeEvents - RED ALERT DAY 

Tuesday 11 August 2020 - the day the Live Events industry stood together to be noticed as we were the first to close and will be the last to restart from Covid. I was invited to manage the logistics and pull together a team of 30 event professionals to manage pre-registered participants across four Arenas along The Thames:  The London Eye, Royal Festival Hall, National Theatre and Tate Modern

* Over 3,300 participants from across our industry arrived from 18:30 to sign in and for the SM team to brief them on their roles

* Event went live at 20:50 with a 23m barge and huge video wall showing images of our industry as it sailed down The Thames accompanied by a press boat for VIPs and media.

All of the buildings along the North and South banksides were LIT RED and participants used an app to turn their phones into red torchlights for additional visual impact...... a totally humbling experience for all of us!

PITCH - high end 6* new resort launch: Montenegro

Logistics Director covering guest delegate management for 250 VVIPs, Press, Investors and Buyers; arrival/departure transfers by road, air and water; guest programme; on-site staffing; crew management; and a pre-launch press event in Baku

AU London 2019 - Autodesk

Logistics Director working on the winning pitch and then the management of all logistical aspects including a delegate management system with Cvent for the delivery of this two day event at Tobacco Dock London with plenary sessions, workshops and exhibition areas for 2,000 attendees daily 

PITCH - internal comms client event

Logistics Director looking at the feasibility of running one major event in the UK rather than a series of events in the client's key  European offices including  the challenge of resourcing 4,000 bedrooms within a 15km radius of London ExCel  

New Jewellery Collection Launch - high end client event
Logistics Director on the winning pitch/delivery team responsible for briefing,  originating and managing the event database for clients, accommodation  and overall event data including all transport requirements on this  unique event to high net worth guests invited  to this annual event for their private view of the new collection, to enjoy unique London experiences and attend private Galas at The Royal Albert Hall, Freemasons' Hall and The Reform Club.  I also sourced key third party suppliers such as for transport to deliver 1,200 individual car movements with each guest/couple having a dedicated driver across their time at the event

Pitch - automotive client
Logistics Director responsible for key venue and accommodation searches  for a new car launch in Southern Europe for up to 4,500 dealers.  The  brief required:
* a unique space of 15,000 sqm for the main event and a 2nd  venue for the nightly gala dinners
* a ride & drive experience
* accommodation for all guests utilising as few hotels as near to the venue as possible

Clarks SS17 new collection launch events:  Singapore & Athens
Logistics Director responsible for developing and managing the online  delegate management system; key venue / accommodation searches,  negotiation and contracting; sourcing and liaison with local DMCs and local staffing.  

Selected destinations and venues were:

Singapore - Mandarin Oriental and Peony Jade for 100+,  

Athens - Athens Hilton and The Island for 130+

Government Cyber Security Event:   Park Plaza Westminster London 2014 & 2015

Logistics Director responsible for the management of the venue across  all meeting space and bedrooms for 600+ invited attendees.  Responsible for the Master  Schedule including all logistics; access rights to key areas; security requirements;  people flow; F&B; and the post event evaluation process for this two day  event across the main plenary, Keynote Dinner, VIP Reception and  'locked' down sessions. 

PITCH - Centenary WW1 event:  The Somme
Logistics Director responsible for looking at all road transfers from key Ride &  Drive sites to the event location;  the development of a registration site for all 10,000 attendees, cast and crew; F&B including a main lunch service to all attendees with an enhanced service for VIPs; accommodation; security and on-site event staff

SPOTY:  BBC Sports Personality of the Year:  SECC Glasgow
Operations Director responsible for delivering the Corporate Dinner  to 650 corporate guests; BBC Reception for 1,250 invited VIP guests and  the Post Show Party for 2,500+ guests as well as working with the Red  Carpet and Red Button teams

Google Advisory Council - public events in seven cities
Logistics Director: responsible for sourcing suitable venues for 150-250pax and all  event logistics including delegate management;  venue and F&B management; local event support at:

Madrid - Casa America, Rome - Auditorium della Musica,  Paris - Forum des Images, Warsaw - SWP, Berlin - Kalkscheune, London -  Kings Place and Brussels - Flagey

PITCH -  International Telecoms Roadshow
Executive Producer - Logistics on the winning pitch/delivery team responsible for:

  • a comprehensive venue search to locate suitable stand alone venues  in Calgary, Chicago, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Houston, London, Montreal,  New York, Paris, Sydney, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington for audience  sizes of between 400 - 1,000
  • developing the most efficient and cost effective schedule to  implement this programme by creating two production teams and event sets
  • developing the delegate registration system including an event app
  • introducing two logistics team:  one for Europe & Australia and  one covering North America all working with 'local' supplier support
  • developing an all day healthy, grazing F&B offering to be translated across all venues

SPOTY:  BBC Sports Personality of the Year:   ExCeL London
Logistics Director on the successful pitch/delivery team as a 'bridging' role across all aspects of this event including the main live televised 2.5hr show for an audience of 16,500;   Pre-Event  Dinner for 1,600 corporate guests;  Pre-Event Reception for 1,250 invited  VIPs & BBC Sport guests;  and Post-Event Party for 3,000+ as well as  working with the Red Carpet, Red Button and Radio 5 Live teams

South Bank Sky Arts Awards:  The Dorchester, London
Event Manager working closely with Lord Melvyn Bragg, Sky Arts and the programme producers on the guest list of leading  personalities across all areas of the Arts for 300 invited guests

Responsible for the invitation process with the design and co-ordination of all printed material inc hold-the-date cards, invitations, menus, personalised place  cards;  venue/room signage and theming;   management of the pre-event  drinks areas, press room & Ballroom;  table design including  florals;  menu selection and tastings; and the table plans working closely with SBSAA and Sky Arts

Leading Telecoms Trade Event & Expo:  ExCeL London
Project Director on the winning pitch team with key responsibilities for the delivery of this two day trade event including building the delivery team to  cover the overall event management and management of all supplier companies; the invitation & registration  process to communicate and market the event; venue usage, planning & management; catering for attendees, VIPs and crew; crew  accommodation; speaker management including the rehearsal schedule plus accommodation, transfers and pre-event Dinner;  training and managing the on-site event host team of 50+.  Daily attendees: 3,000+

Partners Conference & Sales Conference:  Hilton Metropole, Brighton
Producer/ Project Director responsible for the delivery of two  back-to-back events by ensuring all content was received and passed to  the in-house studio;  coordinating the speaker rehearsal schedule and the  logistics of the breakout sessions;  managing an evening experience - an 'inside' fairground.  

Attendees: 250 at both events

International Stock Exchange IR Conference:  Dexter House, London
Project Director responsible for venue contracting and liaison, front of  house management and the on-site event team to co-ordinate the main  plenary and 50+  1-1 meetings across this one day event.   Attendees: 200+

International Investors Conference:   The Dorchester, London
Project Director responsible for the management of the main venue,  liaising with three hotels for delegate accommodation and airport  transfers.  Worked with The Dorchester to convert  30 bedrooms into 1-1 meeting rooms to deliver 125+ private meetings each  day for the 25 participating companies.  The agenda also included a  Cocktail Reception at the private members club, Home House.  Attendees: 200+

Internal Comms Conference:   The Landmark, London
This event saw the merging of several international companies under one major holding company into four main identities. 

As Logistics  Director, I was responsible for the venue management of all meeting  spaces including room usage; F&B; two gala dinners; and accommodation plus a pre-event off-site dinner at Sketch.  Attendees: 200+

International Investors Conference:   The Pierre, New York
Project Director responsible for the invitation process for this financial client; on-line database management;  venue finding, contracting, liaison and accommodation; main plenary production, layout and F&B;  and the conversion of 35 bedrooms into 1-1 meeting rooms.   Attendees: 200+

International Investors Conference:   Merchant Taylor's Hall & Waldorf Hotel, London
Project Director responsible for the invitation process for this  financial client; on-line database management;  venue management for the main agenda and meeting rooms:  contracting,  liaison, and accommodation; main plenary production, layout and F&B; and scheduling  154 1-1 meetings for 88 investor companies and the  project  reconciliation.  Attendees: 250+

Exhibition, Conference & Gala Party:  Palais des Festivals, Cannes
Project Director responsible for contracting over 1,300 bed nights across the Palace hotels along La Croisette and managing all  add-on executive meetings & activities outside of the main plenary; two off-site parties - one on the beach at the Carlton  Hotel for 250pax and one at Chateau de la Napoule for 800+ including a full evening  of gastronomy and entertainment of welcoming artistes, live music, chill out disco, caricature artistes, tarot readers, strolling acts, a light show and F&B

IT Developers Conference:  Paris Hotel, Las Vegas
Logistics Director for a  news-based media client event to their internal programme developers. My responsibilities covered all delegate ground  transfers, accommodation and meeting space requirements; on-site  F&B; two exclusive use off-site dinners - at GameWorks utilising  their in-house activities and at The Harley Davidson Café using  their themed venue, Harley outriders, 'meet & greet' hostesses, in-house themed photo booth, tattooists and live music.  Attendees:  400+

Internal Comms Conference:   The Arts, Barcelona 
Logistics Director responsible for all aspects of accommodation for all  attendees and crew, ground transfers;  venue management of all lower  ground meeting spaces;  F&B at the conference venue; off-site  dinner and activities at Shoko, a beach bar/club; and a Gala Dinner at  Barcelona's unique Poble Espanyol including live music and flamenco  dancers. Attendees: 170+

Mobile Phone Product Launch:   Gainsborough Studios, London
Logistics Director responsible for the delivery of daytime press and  trade launches of new telecoms products and business development updates followed by an  'A' List evening party at a second venue including the invitation of key 'talent' for press opportunities with  live music from Amy Winehouse.

Hedge Fund Forum:  Trianon Palace Hotel, France
For three consecutive years as Senior Logistics Manager for Morgan Stanley responsible for all event logistics;  the management of all meeting rooms; co-ordination of all ground  transfers working closely with local suppliers; hotel accommodation; welcome dinner; main meeting space agenda; 1-1  meetings in a series of specially built shell-scheme rooms; networking opportunities; and  a Gala Dinner in a private room at The Palais de Versailles with guests transferred by Le Petit Train.  Attendees  were all high-profile Hedge Fund owners

XVIIth Commonwealth Games, Opening and Closing Ceremonies:   Manchester
Lead Registration and Database Manager on the Opening & Closing  ceremonies, I was responsible for developing the database  management system to accredit over 10,250 cast & crew including issuing  photo IDs  to ensure all had access to sites, respective rehearsals and the live events. This was all achieved with one assistant and a team of local, keen and enthusiastic event volunteers

Dealer Car Launch:  The Estrel, Berlin
Senior Logistics Manager on this 47 day event to 22,000+ car dealers  and suppliers from 19 European countries attending this car launch. 

My responsibilities covered all hotel requirements including  accommodation for delegates and crew;  additional client meeting requests  at the hotel;  F&B management for the nightly cocktail  receptions and Gala Dinners for up to 650 pax.

I worked with the hotel on the menus for the Dinners and Lunches as they also managed all delegate catering at the event venue - a former AEG factory. We had menu cards in 16 languages and a local multi-lingual host team of 150+

In addition, I worked closely with a leading boat supplier to theme two  suitable water-based transfers every morning from the hotel to the venue where attendees were served breakfast

European Executive Client Conference:  Euro Disney Paris
Logistics Manager responsible for managing the scheduling and operations  of this client's Executive Meetings held during the event and  outside of the main plenary sessions.  Across this three-day event  approximately 300 meetings took place between the client's top 100  senior executives and their invited key customers in 30 converted rooms  where a specially developed F&B menu was served

My role included pre-production setup of the agenda, office-based desking and/or travelling with the senior management team to ensure all of their travel, ground transfers, accommodation, meeting venues and dinners were arranged so that the team could meet the tight meeting schedule as agreed with the participating investment banks.
